The Hustle and Bustle

I am not sure why during the holidays I always feel the urge to write. I think it’s just because it is a jittery time of year. There is a lot going on and I feel like it is a time when moms especially are super stressed out. So this is my way to say hayyyyy, you’re not alone sister. All of us have dirty underwear on the floor in the bathroom. Don’t feel bad!!!

All of us have people constantly popping in the house like oh hey I just figured I would pop in and spread some holiday cheer, well I hope you brought wine Susan because this house is a doozy. It’s December 13th and no my tree isn’t up. I’ve been meaning to do that since last year and I’ll just add it to the list.

There is so much pressure during this season. Pinterest stop torturing me with time sucking projects that I will never complete! Michael’s get out of here with your wreath making! By the time I am done with it, spring will be upon us. No, I don’t have time for your cookie swap, your kids aren’t getting presents from me, shove your secret Santa. GOODBYE!

I know this makes me sound like a miser. I PROMISE YOU I am NOT! I would just so much rather spend this holiday season reading the story of our savior and watching movies and snuggling my kids. I want my family, yes and BRINE (my pet name for my husby) and our cats (who I love and hate) to sit on the couch in our jammies and drink hot cocoa and watch movies and watch the snowfall. I want us to drive around and look at lights. I want us to make ugly ornaments to put all over the tree. I want to make snow cones and an ugly snowman. ⛄️

I would so much rather spend this season enjoying my family and my life than be racing around “getting ready” for the season. The getting ready never ends!! By the time you take a breath it is a new year and you enjoyed no part of it.

AND PLEASE… stop asking me what my kids want. The answer is that I’m still trying to figure this out myself while getting over the fact that we buy a bunch of crap for our kids for seemingly no reason. Yea, we enjoy abundance and celebrate our prosperity with blessing one another. BUT MY KIDS DON’T GET THAT!!! I’m not saying no presents I’m just saying cool your jets.

I’m putting my foot down. I’m not going to make myself miserable. I’m not traveling all over creation because you bought my kids a present. I’m not dressing the family up like fools to send you a card. NO. NO. NO. I will be on my couch with a Sherpa and I will be watching ELF if you need me, you know where to find me. :]

And….. The best part is this is a bunch of crap because I’ll be running around like a fool to do everything just like the rest of you. LOL!

Happy Holidays Friends! Cheers to a new year of Health and Prosperity through Christ. ❤ ❄️⛄️🎄
